ARENA DANCES launched its inaugural Contemporary Repertory Company season with a dynamic evening of new commissions and celebrated repertory, marking a significant milestone in the organization's 30-year history. The program featured two world premiere commissions by Julia Antinozzi and Elayna Waxse, a Twin Cities premiere and remount of Jordan Demetrius Lloyd's acclaimed The Basement, and an excerpt from Mathew Janczewski's Plastic Language, reflecting ARENA's commitment to preserving contemporary dance works while cultivating new artistic voices.

Performed by company artists Nieya Amezquita, Alex Arce, Non Edwards, Jake Nehrbass, and Sarah McCullough, the evening explored themes of memory, transformation, intimacy, identity, and human connection through four distinct choreographic perspectives. Rehearsals were directed by Laura Selle Virtucio, with lighting design by Mark Ruark, costume design by Jon Montgomery, videography by Tamara Ober, and production photography by Bill Cameron.
